" I never asked for this..."
This is a study of Adam Jensen from Deus Ex, one of the characters I admire the most, from one of my favorite franchises. This project took a long time to complete, especially because I had to redo it after losing the original file.
It’s hard to measure how much I’ve learned throughout this process. I had very clear goals from the beginning: to study hard surface and there couldn’t have been a better character for that than Adam, who has one of the most outstanding character designs ever created.
Due to technical and skill limitations, I spent a long time working through certain parts, and some of them still haven’t reached the level I would have liked to truly do justice to the character. Even so, I decided to consider this study finished.
Adam represents, to me, a living memory of artistic and professional growth. I always wanted to capture the same level of brilliance I see in the games he stars in and that led me to take a bold step: reaching out to some of the amazing developers behind the character and the game.
I would like to thank Guillaume Tiberghien, Frédéric Bennett, and Marco Plouffe for being incredibly kind and taking the time to acknowledge a student like me. I will never forget this generosity.
And most importantly, I want to thank the best 3D teacher I could ever ask for, Laura Gallagher , for giving me so much attention and valuable feedback and insights about the character. This is only the beginning , you’ve helped me far more than I can put into words.
